a bc day

in the morning when the moon is at its rest,
you will find me at the time I love the best
watching rainbows play on sunlight;
pools of water iced from cold nights,
in the morning
’tis the morning of my life….

yea, what an awesome thrill
bee gees this morning to kill
incredible poetry and musical joy my heart to fill
what incredulous family talent till

a pattern formed
as my mind rom’d
my fave vocalists have a “b” or “c”
bee gees, beatles, oh let it be, golly gee
billy joel, barbra streisand, baez and her blue-eyed bob dylan
carole king, carly simon, csny, celine dion, cat stevens, jim croce, phil collins all so brilliant

and another b event
wonderful lunch time spent
with bro chuck and gm at stanford max opera
later a c-event, chico shopping spree rah-rah

meltdown or bull time
credit crime
grim grime
slime peak
like lipstick on pig

whether you’re a brother
or whether you’re a mother,
you’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive.
feel the city breakin’
and ev’rybody shakin’
and we’re stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive.
ha, ha, ha, ha,
stayin’ alive…..

matthew 6:19-21 jive and squeal
do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal….

but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust destroys,
and where thieves do not break in or steal;
for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also…

echoed in john 6:27
a 7th heaven in bread unleaven
“do not work for the food which perishes,
but for the food which endures to eternal life,
which the Son of Man shall give to you,
for on Him the Father, even God, has set His seal.”

now that’s a deal
that’s a steal
no bill
cos’ it’s paid for already, the cross-sealed appeal

psalmist david’s appeal (90:12) to the heavens
“teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are;
help us spend them as we should”

jiving with paul newman’s wisdom he left us
“we are such spendthrifts with our lives.
the trick of living is to slip on and off the planet with the least fuss u can muster.
i’m not running for sainthood.
i just happen to think that in life we need to be a little like the farmer, who
puts back into soil what he takes.”

nayee baala donka

hadji before taking off to visit his beloved crete
loaned us a hindi classic movie treat
called which took14 years to produce
a side drama between actress-wife#3 meeri and director-writer-poet kamal in itself profuse
a few days after movie’s release, meeri died
initially a flop but with meeri’s dance performance immortalized, it rose to acclaim flight

story touched on love straying from caste and societal pressure lines
with tragedy tussling with romance in landmines
ending in deaths that equalize
resolutions too late to fantasize

connecting me to a kannada saying
“nayee baala donka” literally translated “the tail of a dog is always crooked”, no use straightening
meaning u cannot convince some people no matter what you do, it ain’t playing
cos’ in “pakeezah,” the rigid wealthy patriach disapproved of his son’s prostitute lover to be marrying
heartbroken lover dies after giving birth to nargis, the resultant romance product she’s been carrying

nargis repeats the vicious cycle of being trapped in brothel life but destined to meet secret admirer salim
after some incidents that separated them, aristocratic salim found nargis and proposed marriage in a whim
when priest inquired of nargis’ name, salim responded “pakeezah” to disguise her legacy grim
she ran away and limped back to life she’s fated with dashed dream
turns out also salim’s grandpa is also the same patriach who killed her parents, what a scream

nayee baala donka conjurs an unwillingness to change for better
like leopards who can’t change their spots, harmful habits and thinking can cloister
and fetter
choices to make
life decisions to take
for goodness sake
make it a hippy, happy shake
people being kind to each other bake
law of attraction and golden rule icing on cake
“whatever u want men to do to u, do also to them…” matthew 7:12 spake

yesterday’s date
is intertwined with golden gate
symbolizing cantata of “simple twists of fate
upon connecting stories of late
dicey spicy debate
dots that mate and relate
an entry now to create

wee hour of 6:00am to trot
dropped off saliwee and bro at sf airport
hmm, since we need to further on to napa
for a morning date with yamanaka
why not stop for sunrise
over golden gate bridge to apprise

diamonds and rust lyrics to mesmerize
get lost in the fog clouds as they lumber and arise

the real “golden gate” is the strait that the bridge spans
captured this morning by taipan’s lens

it was first named “chrysopylae,”
meaning “golden gate”,  greek at play
by lieutenant john fremont in 1846 noted on vista point display
symbolic of me setting sail into a golden life-phase bay

a delightful lunch at julia’s kitchen in copia
interspersed with yummy life stories, o mamma mia
makes one appreciative of life spent thus far
powered by heavenly star
healing life choices made without much scar
fulfilling dreams via doors closed and opened ajar

He brought my heart
to san francisco
high on a hill, it calls to me
to be where little cable cars
climb halfway to the stars!
the morning fog may chill the air
i don’t care!

my love waits there
in san francisco
above the blue and windy sea
when i come home to you, san francisco,
your golden sun will shine for me!
