tongue-tied

though the pen, mightier than the sword can
pbcc andy drake revealed the tongue can be mightier than the pen
text at least can be edited and rejected
but verbal poison lingers and sears indelibly to heart affected

james 3, verses 1 through twelve
on loose lips and tongue delve
mere little member that “boasts great things”
likened to a consuming forest fire, defiling commoners and kings

“no man can tame the tongue” wrote james
it’s “an unruly evil, full of deadly poison” he claims
for “out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing”
spirit to destroy vs kind thoughtful darts to direct, His glory to sing

admonishing brethren to project sync’d authenticity residing
in a true believer, for “a spring cannot send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening”
no spring yields both salt water and fresh
indeed evil and goodness does clash

au contraire, sticks and stones merely break bones
but verbal slings and arrows along with provocative tones
bring deep emotional hurt
once in heart, insert

on the other hand
the tongue can spit inspiration rant
spew positive energy and love spurts
melodious songbird chirps

watching concert for diana
re-inventing police melodrama

every-breath-you-take.jpg

every single day
every word you say
every game you play
every heart you slay
He’ll be watching you
